Trump on Tuesday cancelled plans to travel to South America later this week, choosing to stay in the United States to manage the response to the events in Syria.
Trump also spoke to French President Emmanuel Macron in a phone call on Monday.
But France’s permanent representative Francois Delattre countered that only the Syrian government and its allies had the capability of developing the chemical and said that there was no doubt about who carried out the attacks.
It ambassador to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, earlier warned of the potential consequences to Western intervention in Syria, saying that USA attacks on Syria “could lead to grave repercussions”.
