Carson’s post was spotted by the cousin of Red Devils midfielder Jesse Lingard, resulting in Lingard, Marcus Rashford, Ashley Young and Tim Fosu-Mensah all coming to visit Lawler in Wythenshawe, Manchester.
There was just one thing Man United super fan Paddy Lawler wanted before he died.
A football fan’s final wish came true when four Manchester United stars paid him a visit an hour before he died.
Despite the request seeming like a long shot, Lawler’s granddaughter, Kayleigh, posted an appeal on Facebook for anyone to help get in touch with the club in order for his wish to be granted.
The initial Facebook plea was shared 1,015 times before the players visited him after training.
Less than an hour after the players left, Paddy lost his battle with prostate cancer. His granddaughter Kayleigh took it upon herself to make his wish come true and amazingly it did.
“But they were great with him”.
It’s an incredible gesture from Reds players, who were under no obligation to come and visit.
“He was so poorly he was barely able to stay awake”. We asked him the other day if he would like to do anything before his time comes and he said to meet the team. He’s a massive fan; even tried his hardest to keep his eyes open yesterday to watch the match, but, sadly, he missed it! “Sure my grandad’s over the moon”, she posted on Facebook.
