Croatia have been ‘underestimated’, says coach Dalic

The Tottenham forward is the tournament’s leading scorer with six goals, putting him level with Gary Lineker’s 1986 haul, ahead of Wednesday’s semi-final against Croatia.

Along with Ivan Rakitic, the pair are lynchpins in the team’s most deadly territory, and defender Harry Maguire identified them as players which England’s defenders will also have to keep an eye on.

“We’ve got a great chance [of winning the World Cup], we’ve put ourselves in a great position to win it”.

Speaking on the club’s official Instagram channel, Brown said: “Dedo, my man, congratulations on how well you’ve done so far”. “His all-round play, he’s won everything in the game. That in future we talk about them”, said Blazevic, now 83, and known in Croatia as the “coach of all coaches”.

“Hopefully we had a long month together, which we have done”. And the sartorial hit item in discussion, is a humble waistcoat that Southgate has been sporting since the beginning of this year’s tournament in Russian Federation.

“I think the current generation of Croatian players has been underestimated”, Dalic told a news conference.

He said: “I don’t read what is going on in England, I am reading about my own country after each game”. We wanted to play good football, work hard, play with passion – and we have done that.

And he was a special guest on Sunday’s edition of the Lions’ Den, when he saw more clips of the scenes across the country following Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Sweden. We have reached the semifinal stage and fancy England to get the job done against Croatia this week.

“This generation has been underrated for a long time because of their poor results, but they have shown their quality when it mattered at this World Cup, and it will go down as a golden generation like that of 1998”.

The French will remember well what happened when the teams last met, with Belgium tearing them apart in a 4-3 friendly win in Paris in June 2015.

England boss Gareth Southgate has admitted he could not listen to Three Lions for 20 years after his penalty shoot-out miss in the Euro ’96 semi-final.

Southgate and his players trained at their base in Repino on Tuesday morning before heading for Moscow and the Luzhniki Stadium where their fate will be decided on Wednesday evening.
