If you are a registered voter in Los Angeles County and poll workers say they can’t find your name on the roster at the polling place when you go to vote, don’t worry – you can still cast a provisional ballot.
Vote by mail ballots must be received by the county elections office by the time polls close at 8pm on Election Day or your return envelope must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by the Registrar of Voters no later than the Friday after Election Day. Unaffiliated voters will not be able to vote in the Democratic or Republican primaries.
“This is the first year in which unaffiliated voters can vote in a partisan primary”, said Chuck Boerman, El Paso County Clerk and Recorder.
E-registration, the online service to add or update information on the voters list, is closed for the election.
“We apologize for the inconvenience of the provisional ballot; however it will count and we will resolve the issue for November”, said Logan.

Despite making education a foundation of her campaign, she lost the coveted endorsement of the California Teachers Association to Newsom and has struggled to get serious momentum in the race.
